• Sleepy Eye OKs July Fourth fireworks (nujournal.com) — Sleepy Eye’s Fourth of July fireworks over Sleepy Eye Lake are officially on, with the city council approving the fire department’s display and budgeting $8,000 for the show. Council members also discussed a major School Street reconstruction project near the high school, which missed out on state funding, and advanced the sale of the last residential lot on S.E. Maple Street.
