We could be looking at temperatures that feel like 40 degrees below zero the week before Christmas, according to the latest forecast.

TWIN CITIES, MN — You read that right. We could be looking at temperatures that feel like 40 degrees below zero the week before Christmas, according to the latest forecast.

Following this week's snow, bitter arctic air is set to arrive on Saturday.

"Increasing confidence that potent arctic air will settle across the region next week, with wind chills dropping as low as 30 to 40 below zero," the National Weather Service said.

"This will be a long-duration cold stretch, beginning this weekend and continuing until the final week of the year."

Oh, and the snow isn't done with us yet. Another couple of inches could fall yet to begin the weekend in the Twin Cities metro area.
