The Art Institutes International Minnesota Graduate Designs Community Mural for Mall of America

Shane Anderson and Kelly Anderson, both graduates of The Art Institutes International Minnesota*, are giving back to the community and their alma mater with Communities on Canvas with Mall of America™. Guests are invited to watch as 20 community groups help paint murals created by Shane. Each organization’s painting has been custom designed to tell the story of their work throughout the community. The participating nonprofits will have a plaque created to be placed under their mural while on display in Mall of America’s new expansion.

The murals will be painted by members of the community organizations and volunteers of those groups. Each station will have a professional artist as well as a student from The Art Institutes International Minnesota to assist and guide the volunteers. This project gives students the opportunity to not only work with Shane, an award-winning artist, but also to give back to their community.

Kelly Anderson is a 1999 graduate with an Associate of Applied Science in Graphic Design and a 2003 graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Graphic Design.
