Be Prepared For Snow On Your Morning Commute: MN Weather

TWIN CITIES, MN — Residents of the Twin Cities can expect light snow during their commutes Tuesday morning. Hennepin, Anoka, Ramsey, Dakota, Scott, and Washington counties are among those under a hazardous weather outlook.

"An area of snow will swing through the area this morning," the National Weather Service said.

"Northwest winds pick up behind this system with gusts near 30 MPH this afternoon, before slowly diminishing this evening. Temperatures warm through Friday with a couple of minor chances for precipitation."

The most snow will fall in metro communities north of Interstate 94.

Tuesday: Snow likely, mainly between 9am and 11am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 24. South southeast wind 5 to 15 mph becoming northwest in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. Total daytime snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 9. West northwest wind 10 to 15 mph becoming west southwest 5 to 10 mph after midnight.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 29. South southwest wind 5 to 10 mph.

Wednesday Night: A 20 percent chance of snow after midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a steady temperature around 24. South southwest wind around 5 mph becoming east southeast after midnight.

Thursday: Partly sunny, with a high near 34. East southeast wind around 5 mph becoming southwest in the afternoon.
