Certain garden and household plants are toxic to pets
Many plants cause irritation to the digestive system, but some can be deadly. Learn the plants that can be toxic to cats/dogs so you are aware of where they are placed in your house or yard.

Curious cats love to nibble on flowers and plants. Although ingesting many plants can cause irritation to the digestive system, such as vomiting or diarrhea, lilies are truly toxic and a very small amount will poison a cat. Lilies, those in cut flower arrangements and the "day lilies" commonly planted in yards, cause kidney failure. All parts of the plants are toxic, and ingesting even a very small amount is very serious for cats. Early signs of lily toxicity can include excessive salivation, vomiting, depression and either increased or decreased urine output. The best plan is to prevent cats from coming into contact with lilies. If you aren't sure if a plant or flower in your home is toxic, call your veterinarian and ask or look on our website for a list of toxic plants.
