Here's the weather to expect if you're traveling for Christmas in Minnesota this week.

TWIN CITIES, MN — Christmas Eve will be warm with a chance for rain in the Twin Cities. Christmas Day will be colder, with a chance for snow.

"Slick spots possible early this morning and again tomorrow with light freezing rain/drizzle," the National Weather Service said.

"The active pattern will continue with a few chances for snow over the next few days. Freezing rain may mix in with the snow Sunday/Sunday night."

Thursday: Partly sunny, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 38. North wind around 5 mph becoming south in the afternoon.

Thursday Night: Increasing clouds, with a low around 24. Light south wind becoming south southeast 5 to 10 mph after midnight.

Friday: A slight chance of rain between 8am and 11am. Partly sunny, with a high near 43. South southeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Christmas Day: A 20 percent chance of snow after 7am. Partly sunny, with a steady temperature around 23. North northwest wind 5 to 10 mph.

Saturday Night: A 20 percent chance of snow before 7pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 15. North northwest wind around 5 mph becoming east northeast after midnight.
