CNN Says Stefon Diggs Plays For 'Minneapolis Vikings'

MINNEAPOLIS — Minnesotans are used to people in the national media confusing local names and cities. A common occurrence is when broadcasters put up an image of downtown Minneapolis on TV and say something like; "It's a beautiful night in Saint Paul!"

But the mistake CNN made today on Twitter might be a new one. In a tweet, the news station dubbed the local NFL team here, the "Minneapolis Vikings," siloing the team off from the rest of the state.

As you can imagine, people in the replies had a field day.

In unrelated news, the Minnesota Vikings play the Washington Redskins Thursday.
