Former NBA MVP Headed To The Minnesota Timberwolves: Report

The reported move comes weeks after a meniscal injury sidelined All-Star forward Jimmy Butler.

MINNEAPOLIS, MN — Derrick Rose will sign with the Minnesota Timberwolves for the remainder of the 2017-2018 season, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports. Rose was traded from the Cleveland Cavaliers to the Utah Jazz on the day of the trade deadline last month before being waived, allowing him to become a free agent.

Rose and Minnesota coach Tom Thibodeau will be reunited for the first time since 2015 when Thibodeau coached the Chicago Bulls. Timberwolves' Taj Gibson also played with Rose in Chicago.

Rose was the 2011 NBA MVP but serious knee injuries have plagued the three-time All-Star ever since.
