Eagles Fan Agrees To Pay For Chair Stolen From U.S. Bank Stadium

An investigation was launched after video surfaced of a man leaving the Super Bowl with a stadium seat.

MINNEAPOLIS, MN — A Philadelphia Eagles fan who apparently thought his Super Bowl ticket included the property rights to a stadium chair is now making amends. The Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority launched an investigation the day after the big game when video shared on social media showed an Eagles fan leaving the Super Bowl with a stadium chair in hand.

The fan has since agreed to pay for the cost to replace the chair, about $125, the Associated Press reported.

"The fan was exuberant and excited and he pulled the chair out," Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority spokeswoman Jennifer Hathaway said. "This is someone forcibly removing an item that isn’t supposed to be removed."

A photo posted on Reddit showed one missing seat and two other seats without backs. "Another angle of the seats I saw Eagles fans kick out while "celebrating" the guy in the hat was the one I saw for sure break one, the other ones we heard, but didn't see, though the only people sitting there were eagles fans in those two rows," user SoDakZak wrote.

On a typical day when fans aren't swiping seats, U.S. Bank Stadium holds 66,655 visitors.

Eagles fans left Minneapolis mostly unscathed after the Super Bowl. Philadelphia was a different story.
