After Loss, CFP Committee Still Ranks Minnesota Gophers Top 10
The Minnesota Gophers still have a chance to make the 2019-2020 College Football Playoff.

MINNEAPOLIS — Despite suffering its first loss on the road Saturday against the Iowa Hawkeyes, the all-important College Football Playoff committee only dropped the Minnesota Gophers a couple of spots this week. Minnesota (9-1) was ranked No. 10 Tuesday, dropping down from No. 8 last week.
The latest CFP committee top ten are as follows:
- LSU
- Ohio State
- Clemson
- Georgia
- Alabama
- Oregon
- Utah
- Penn State
- Oklahoma
- Minnesota
ESPN analyst Rece Davis noted Tuesday night that the Gophers still have "everything in front of them" as far as the playoff committee is concerned. Minnesota plays Northwestern and Wisconsin to end the regular season. If they win both of those and make the Big Ten title game, the Gophers have a chance to take down No. 2 Ohio State and make the playoff.
