Los Angeles, CA – Minnesota sports fans watching Wednesday night's ESPYs were shocked after an apparent snub of former Timberwolves coach and Minnesota Gophers point guard Flip Saunders.

Saunders, who died of cancer late last year, appeared to be left out of a video tribute to sports figures who died in the past year.

The Star Tribune reported that ESPN officials say Saunders was a part of the tribute, but his part was not televised.

ESPN has not yet released a statement about the incident.
