TWIN CITIES, MN — The National Weather Service has issued a "special weather statement" for the Twin Cities metro area, warning residents about the possibility of hail and heavy winds Saturday morning.

Thunder and lightning have already begun in parts of the metro.

"The storms will be fast-moving with a storm motion to the north near 60 mph possible," the NWS said.
