Need something fun for your July 4 gathering? Try one of these.

Our friends at the Tipsy Bartender shared a recipe for Fourth of July Cake Vodka Milkshakes, and because Patch loves a good party, we're sharing with you.

Because nothing is more American than vodka and ice cream. (Step aside, apple pie.)

  • 3 ounces Cake Vodka
  • 3 Cups Vanilla Ice Cream
  • Red Food Coloring (or substitute Strawberry Liqueur or bakers' gel food coloring, which will give you brighter colors)
  • Blue Food Coloring (or substitute Blue Curacao or bakers' gel food coloring)
  • Whipped Cream
  • Red, White and Blue Sprinkles

How to make:

Blend one ounce of Cake Vodka, 1 cup vanilla ice cream and your blue food coloring. Continue adding blue food coloring to the mix until you have the desired shade. Pour into shot glasses and place in freezer until mixture hardens.

Blend one ounce of Cake Vodka and 1 cup ice cream and layer on top of the blue ice cream and place in freezer until the mix hardens. To prevent the layers from getting mixed and distorting the colors, make sure each layer is firm before adding the next layer.

Repeat with your red coloring, then layer on top of your white ice cream. Return to the freezer until the mixture hardens.

Top with whipped cream and sprinkles.
