MINNEAPOLIS — Former New York Yankees player Alex Rodriguez and his business partner, Marc Lore, officially became part owners of the Minnesota Timberwolves and Lynx Tuesday after the NBA Board of Governors approved the succession plan for the two basketball franchises.

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski was the first to break the news, noting that Lore and Rodriguez are now "limited partner."

In May, Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor agreed to sell the teams to Rodriguez and Lore reportedly for $1.5 billion.
