The 'Love Boat' Scandal Has its Own Legacy Brick Outside U.S. Bank Stadium

The inscription on the Legacy Brick dedicated to the Vikings sex scandal reads "To My Beloved, The Minnetonka Queen."

It’s been nearly 11 years since the infamous "Love Boat" scandal, but Deadspin doesn't want Minnesota Vikings fans to forget about it. On Oct. 6, 2005, during the team's bye week, 17 Vikings players allegedly participated in a sex party that occurred on two boats on Lake Minnetonka, one of Minnesota's most popular lakes that borders some of the Twin Cities' wealthiest suburbs.

One of boats was named the Minnetonka Queen.

Quarterback Daunte Culpepper, Bryant McKinnie, Moe Williams, and Fred Smoot, were charged with misdemeanors related to the party.

Deadspin bought a Legacy Brick and challenged fans to find it among the thousands just outside the stadium.

Following the scandal, owner Zygi Wilf told the team in 2005 that "If there was any sense that we would look the other way regarding this type of behavior, I want to make it extremely clear that this behavior will never be tolerated again."
