Minneapolis: Join A Bicycle Convoy For Bike To Work Day
Join Minneapolis elected officials leading bike rides from across the city on Friday for a large celebration of Bike to Work Day.

MINNEAPOLIS, MN — Join Minneapolis elected officials leading bike rides from across the city on Friday morning to the Hennepin County Government Center for a large celebration of Twin Cities Bike to Work Day. Throughout the morning, Minneapolis Bicycle Coalition volunteers will staff commuter “pit stops” around Minneapolis offering snacks, giveaways and fun activities for all bicycle commuters.
The city of Minneapolis is working to help those who live and work in the city use bicycles as a safe, healthy and low-cost way to travel. Making it safer and easier to get around our city by bicycle reduces wear and tear on our roadways, reduces greenhouse gas emissions, supports local businesses and supports community health, according to city officials.
More people are choosing to ride and are safer when they do. On an average day, more than 11,000 Minneapolis residents get to work by bicycle, which has tripled since the year 2000, according to a news release.
