Minnesota Football at Penn State: Everything You Need To Know
Kickoff time, TV, point spread, tickets, parking, traffic and more.
Minnesota is looking to continue its unbeaten start with a road victory over a Penn State squad that suffered one three-point loss to Pittsburgh (in week two) and one embarrassing 49-10 defeat to Michigan (last Saturday).
Despite the disparity in momentum, Penn State is still favored by three, which is a testament to the Golden Gophers’ soft schedule. These next two weeks will show if Minnesota is for real, with a trip to Iowa on Oct. 8 next on the list.
The Gophers’ offense has been clicking this year, scoring 30, 58 and 31 points to open the campaign. Quarterback Mitch Leidner has been a steady hand in the pocket, throwing for 599 yards and 4 touchdowns with only 1 interception while the running game has tallied 685 yards on the ground while rushing for 11 scores. Rodney Smith is the pacesetter on the ground with 298 rushing yards and 5 touchdowns.

Penn State, on the other hand, has not been as efficient on offense, as quarterback Trace McSorley has thrown 5 touchdowns and 3 interceptions and the Nittany Lions’ rushing attack has mustered only 405 yards on the ground, good for 3 yards per carry.
