Minnesota's Top Daily Newspapers In 2019, Ranked By Circulation

MINNEAPOLIS — It's no secret that the Internet has changed the way we consume news and information. In many ways, it has made life hard on daily newspapers, in Minnesota and around the nation.

In May, after 121 years, Minnesota's Warroad Pioneer newspaper printed its last edition. That happened not long after The Journal newspaper — formerly known as "The Downtown Journal" and "The Skyway News" — ceased publication in December.

And before that, publisher Neal Ronquist announced the Woodbury Bulletin office would close permanently.

However, Minnesota is still home to dozens of newspapers that are still going strong in the digital age. The Minneapolis Star Tribune remains one of the nation's largest independent newspapers, boasting a Sunday circulation of 519,587.
