MN Lawmakers React As Trump Supporters Breach U.S. Capitol

TWIN CITIES, MN — Republican and Democratic lawmakers from Minnesota condemned the supporters of President Donald Trump who breached the U.S. Capitol and forced their way into both chambers of Congress Wednesday.

U.S. Capitol Police evacuated both the Library of Congress and the Cannon House Office Building as a result.

Now, Minnesota's lawmakers are weighing in on the chaos.

"There is absolutely no excuse for violent and destructive protest," said U.S. Rep. Tom Emmer on Twitter. "This type of behavior was unacceptable in Minneapolis and it is unacceptable today in Washington. Shameful."

Other lawmakers let their constituents know that they are safe.

As chaos continued to unfold in Washington D.C., Rep. Ilhan Omar announced that she is moving to impeach President Donald Trump.
