MN Weather: Are Your Allergies Acting Up? Here's Why
If your eyes are itchy and you're sneezing nearly non-stop, you're not alone.
MINNEAPOLIS — If your eyes have been watery and you've been sneezing nearly non-stop in the past few days, there may be an easily identified culprit: wildfire smoke drifting into the Twin Cities area.
"Hazy conditions" persist Monday "due to the Canadian wildfires producing smoke high in the atmosphere drifting across Minnesota and Wisconsin."
On Sunday, smoke and haze covered two-thirds of Minnesota, according to the state Pollution Control Agency. Conditions are expected to improve by Tuesday.

Wondering where today's smoke is coming from @NOAASatellites imaged the glow from several large wildfires in eastern Manitoba and western Ontario early this morning. Today's smoke is originating from these fires. #ndwx #mnwx #mbfire #onfire pic.twitter.com/eQLL37jkNc

"Most of the smoke remains aloft but some is making it to the surface and producing Yellow (Moderate) air quality in most of the state," the PCA said.
"For tonight and Monday wind will switch out of the south and nudge the smoke northward. AQI [air quality index] conditions should improve overall but Yellow AQIs will linger for most of the day. A cold front will advance into northern Minnesota on Tuesday into Wednesday. We will have to watch area north of the frontal boundary for smoky conditions and poor air quality."
