Here's the weather to expect the days leading up to and on Christmas Day in the Twin Cities metro area.
TWIN CITIES, MN — Heading over the hills and through the woods this Christmas? Before the holidays arrive in Minnesota, know what Mother Nature has in store for your travel plans or celebrations.
The weather will start out colder this week, with lows in the single digits.
Thursday and Friday will see highs in the upper 30s however, with a mix of rain and snow possible. Christmas Day will be mostly sunny, with a high near 25.

Monday: Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny, with a temperature falling to around 15 by 5pm. Northwest wind 5 to 15 mph.

Tuesday Night: Increasing clouds, with a low around 8. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light and variable.
Tuesday: Snow likely, mainly between 9am and noon. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 24. South southeast wind 5 to 15 mph becoming northwest in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.
Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 8. West northwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light and variable after midnight.
Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 29. South wind 5 to 10 mph.
