MN Weather: Heat Wave Will Continue This Week

The Twin Cities on Monday saw its first 100-degree day since Memorial Day 2018, the National Weather Service said.

MINNEAPOLIS — The Twin Cities on Monday saw its first 100-degree day since Memorial Day 2018 and the first in June since 2011, according to the National Weather Service. Many of the 66 other 100-degree days were recorded in the 1930s.

The weather will be slightly cooler Tuesday, though the heat wave will continue.

"The 100s will be gone today, but temperatures will continue to run above normal through the weekend," the National Weather Service said. "Next period of unsettled weather comes Thursday night into Saturday."

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 90. Breezy, with a south wind 10 to 20 mph becoming west in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph.

Tuesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 67. Breezy, with a west northwest wind 10 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 86. West northwest wind around 10 mph.

Wednesday Night: Clear, with a low around 68. West northwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming south after midnight.

Thursday: Sunny and hot, with a high near 93. South southwest wind 5 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.

Thursday Night: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 1am. Partly cloudy, with a low around 72. South southwest wind 10 to 15 mph.

Friday: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 89. South wind 10 to 15 mph.

Friday Night: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 70. South southeast wind 5 to 15 mph.

Saturday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 80. Southwest wind 5 to 15 mph becoming northwest in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 60. Northwest wind 10 to 15 mph.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 77. Northwest wind 10 to 15 mph.
