MINNEAPOLIS — March in the Twin Cities will begin will mild temperatures, with highs hovering in the 30s and lows in the 20s and teens. There will be several chances for snow and freezing rain, however.

"Monday should remain quiet and warm followed by a week of active weather," the National Weather Service said. "Several weak disturbances Tuesday through Thursday will bring periodic chances for precipitation."

Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 42. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph.

Monday Night: A 20 percent chance of snow after 3am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 26. West wind 5 to 10 mph.

Tuesday: A chance of snow and freezing rain before noon, then a slight chance of freezing rain between noon and 1pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 36. North northwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming northeast in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Tuesday Night: A slight chance of freezing rain between 9pm and midnight, then snow and freezing rain likely. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 27. West northwest wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New ice accumulation of less than a 0.1 of an inch possible. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Wednesday: A slight chance of snow and freezing rain before noon. Mostly cloudy, with a steady temperature around 29. North wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
