MN Weather: Highs In The 50s To Start The Week

Coming off a warm and sunny weekend, the highs will continue to reach the 50s for the first half of this week. Expect a cool down Thursday.

TWIN CITIES, MN — Coming off a warm and sunny weekend, the highs will continue to reach the 50s for the first half of this week in the Twin Cities. Expect a cool down starting Thursday.

"It will be a windy and active weather week," the National Weather Service said.

"There is a chance for severe thunderstorms Tuesday evening, wind gusts of 45-55 mph Wednesday night through Thursday, and a chance for accumulating snow over central Minnesota Thursday. We'll top the week off with temperatures running around 20 degrees below normal Thursday and Friday."

Monday: Partly sunny through mid morning, then becoming sunny, with a high near 59. West wind 10 to 15 mph.

Tuesday: A chance of showers before 1pm, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm between 1pm and 4pm, then showers likely after 4pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 56. Breezy, with an east southeast wind 10 to 15 mph increasing to 15 to 20 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
