MN Weather: Hot Thursday Before Lows Dip Into 40s

TWIN CITIES, MN — Temperatures will nosedive this weekend in the Twin Cities metro area after an especially hot Thursday.

"Hot, hazy, and breezy today before scattered showers and isolated storms develop overnight into Friday," the National Weather Service said. "We'll cool down this weekend, with highs in the 70s and overnight lows dipping into the 40s."

Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 90. Breezy, with a south wind 10 to 15 mph increasing to 15 to 20 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 35 mph.

Thursday Night: A 10 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 5am. Partly cloudy, with a low around 66. South wind 5 to 15 mph becoming north after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 25 mph.

Friday: Showers and thunderstorms likely before 4pm, then a chance of showers. Cloudy, with a high near 70. North wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
