MN Weather: Showers, Thunderstorms This Weekend

TWIN CITIES, MN — Storms will be off and on this weekend in the Twin Cities metro area. If you're planning on visiting the Minnesota State Fair, keep an eye out Saturday morning.

"Locally dense fog will dissipate later this morning and leave behind a nice and sunny afternoon. The weather pattern becomes more unsettled for the weekend," the National Weather Service said.

"Scattered thunderstorms chances begin tonight and last through Sunday night. The best chances for showers and thunderstorms are currently Friday night into Saturday. Temperatures will also trend warmer into early next week."

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 81. Light east southeast wind becoming south southeast 5 to 10 mph in the morning.

Friday Night: Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 5am. Partly cloudy, with a low around 65. Southeast wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

Saturday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms before noon, then a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 5pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 82. Breezy, with a south southeast wind 10 to 15 mph increasing to 15 to 20 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Saturday Night: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 69. South wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.

Sunday: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 83. South wind 10 to 15 mph.

Sunday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 1am. Partly cloudy, with a low around 68. South southeast wind 5 to 10 mph.

Monday: A 30 percent chance of showers after 1pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 84. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph.
