Motorcyclist Dies After Colliding with Delivery Truck on University Avenue

MINNEAPOLIS, MN — Minneapolis police responded to a fatal motor vehicle crash Monday afternoon at the intersection of University Avenue Northeast and 7th Avenue Northeast.

An adult female motorcyclist was traveling southbound on University Avenue from 8th Avenue Northeast. A delivery truck was east on 7th Avenue Northeast, trying to cross University Avenue Northeast.

The truck pulled out in front of the motorcyclist and she ran into the side of the truck, according to a news release.

Officers provided medical care to the motorcyclist until paramedics arrived. She was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center where she died from her injuries.

The name of the deceased, along with the cause and nature of her death will be released by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The driver of the truck stopped immediately and is cooperating with investigators, police say.
