Minneapolis Police Discussed 'Hunting' Amid 2020 Street Violence
More Minneapolis police body camera footage was released Tuesday showing the chaotic nights that followed George Floyd's death in May 2020.

MINNEAPOLIS — Newly released body camera footage shows that Minneapolis police officers discussed "hunting" people during the chaos and street violence that ensued in the days after George Floyd was killed.
"Tonight it was just nice to hear, 'We're going to go find some more people, instead of chasing people around,'" Minneapolis police Cmdr. Bruce Folkens was recorded saying at about 1 a.m. on May 31, 2020.
"You guys are out hunting people now, and it's just a nice change of tempo," he added.

CNN said it reviewed over two hours of body camera videos that were released Tuesday. The footage was published by an attorney who represented a man acquitted of firing at police officers who shot nonlethal bullets at him on May 30.
"We're rolling down Lake St. The first [expletive] we see, we're just handling them with 40s'," Sgt. Andrew Bittell is heard saying in another video, referring to 40 mm nonlethal rounds.
