NCAA March Madness Basketball Tournament: Minnesota Gophers Live Stream

MINNEAPOLIS, MN — The University of Minnesota Golden Gophers have made the NCAA tournament for the first time under head coach Rich Pitino.

The Gophers are slotted at a very respectable No. 5 seed and will take on the No. 12 Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders Thursday, March 16 at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Selection Sunday For 2017 March Madness NCAA Tournament

After a highly successfully season, the Minnesota men's basketball team was awarded five year-end honors from the Big Ten Conference:

• Head coach Richard Pitino was named the Big Ten Coach of the Year, while junior guard
• Nate Mason earned first team All-Big Ten plaudits
• Jordan Murphy was selected to the All-Big Ten Third Team.
• Reggie Lynch was chosen as the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year
• Amir Coffey was named among the top newcomers as a member of the Big Ten All-Freshman Team.

Pitino is the second Gopher head coach to win the award, following Jim Dutcher in 1982. The Gophers (23-8, 11-7) earned 15 victories more victories this regular season over last.
