Subzero Temperatures Will Return This Week: MN Weather

TWIN CITIES, MN — This week will bring calm, but increasingly cold air to the Twin Cities metro area. Temperatures will fall below 0 degrees by Saturday.

"Some sun will try and sneak through today in Western MN, otherwise predominately cloudy over the next few days with a few chances of light snow across the region," the National Weather Service said.

"Only a few days left of seasonably warmer temperatures before a cool-down for the weekend."

Monday: A 30 percent chance of snow, mainly before 2pm. Patchy fog before 9am. Otherwise, cloudy, with a high near 32. South southwest wind 10 to 15 mph becoming west in the afternoon.

Monday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 17. West wind 5 to 10 mph.

Tuesday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 29. West southwest wind around 5 mph becoming south in the afternoon.

Tuesday Night: A 20 percent chance of snow after midnight. Cloudy, with a low around 22. South wind around 5 mph.

Wednesday: A 30 percent chance of snow. Cloudy, with a high near 29. Southeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming north northwest in the afternoon.

Wednesday Night: A 20 percent chance of snow. Cloudy, with a low around 15. North northwest wind around 10 mph.

Thursday: Partly sunny, with a high near 20. North northwest wind around 10 mph becoming west southwest in the afternoon.

Thursday Night: A 40 percent chance of snow, mainly after midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a temperature rising to around 21 by 5am. South southwest wind 10 to 15 mph.

Friday: A 30 percent chance of snow, mainly before noon. Cloudy, with a high near 32. Southwest wind around 15 mph becoming west northwest in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 25 mph.
