Twin Cities Runner Suffers Cardiac Arrest During Boston Marathon
Meghan Roth has run dozens of marathons and qualified for the Olympic trials. But at mile 8 of Boston, she suffered a cardiac arrest.

MINNEAPOLIS — Minneapolis native Meghan Roth is recovering after suffering a cardiac arrest while running the Boston Marathon Monday.
Roth has run dozens of marathons. She even qualified for the Olympic trials during the 2019 Boston Marathon, thanks to her time of 2:44.
But at mile 8 of this year's Boston Marathon, she fell into cardiac arrest.

"Thankfully, CPR was performed within seconds by trained professionals who were running in the race," according to a GoFundMe page set up for her. "We are forever grateful for them."

Roth, a mother of a 9-month-old, remains hospitalized at the Tufts Medical Center in Boston. Doctors believe inflammation led to her cardiac arrest.
