Vikings Activate Teddy Bridgewater, Put Sam Bradford On IR

Quarterback Teddy Bridgewater returned to the Vikings' active roster Wednesday after suffering a dislocated knee and a torn ACL in 2016.

The Minnesota Vikings Wednesday officially activated quarterback Teddy Bridgewater to the 53-man roster and placed Sam Bradford on the injured reserve list. The team said the activation of Bridgewater "is a major milestone for the recovery process of the fourth-year quarterback."

Bridgewater dislocated his knee and suffered a torn ACL during a non-contact play in practice on Aug. 30, 2016. The injury forced him to miss all of his third season in the NFL. The Vikings traded a 2017 first-round draft pick to the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for Bradford on Sept. 3, 2016. The Vikings finished the season 8-8.

Bradford opened the 2017 season by completing 27 of 32 passes for 346 yards with three touchdowns, but aggravated an old knee injury in the week one win against the New Orleans Saints. Bradford started against the Chicago Bears in week five but re-aggravated the injury.
