Vikings Interview Catherine Raîche For GM: 5 Things To Know

MINNEAPOLIS — The Minnesota Vikings on Monday interviewed Philadelphia Eagles vice president of football operations Catherine Raîche for their general manager opening.

Raîche is the first woman in NFL history to be interviewed for a general manager position.

Here are five things to know about Raîche, her career in football, and her shot at becoming a Minnesota's never general manager:

Hometown

Raîche was born in 1989 and grew up in Québec, Canada.

Current position

Raîche is the vice president of player personnel for the Philadelphia Eagles. She is the highest-ranking woman working in the NFL.

A team's player personnel department manages player scouting, contract negotiations with free agents, and contract extensions with players already on the team's roster.

Education

Raîche graduated with a law degree and a master's degree in tax law from the Université de Sherbrooke in Québec, Canada. She practiced law for the Québec Law Association before she was hired by the Montreal Alouettes in 2015.

Raiche's competition for Minnesota's open general manager position

Raîche is just one of a large crop of candidates the Vikings are looking at. In addition to Raîche, the Vikings have already interviewed Monti Ossenfort, John Spytek, and Kwesi Adofo-Mensah.

Ossenfort is the Titans' director of player personnel.

Spytek is the vice president of player personnel with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Adofo-Mensah. is the vice president of football operations for the Cleveland Browns.
