Batroot Receives Service to Youth Award

Youth Service Bureau is delighted to recognize Vickie Batroot, former board member and recently retired site director at 3M Cottage Grove, with the Service to Youth Award.

“While there's no doubt that Vickie is a "star" in her professional life, few people are aware of her passion and support for kids,” stated Mary E. Planten-Krell, YSB’s executive director.

Over the past six years, Vickie has kept YSB connected with community needs, driven us to provide creative solutions and provided thoughtful guidance at the policy level. Ms. Batroot played a key role in creating programs that solve pressing community needs, like the Library Leaders program in Cottage Grove, and has been a strong advocate throughout the community.

“You could find Vickie organizing golf teams in the summer and helping select a new executive officer in the winter,” says Planten-Krell. “She's the total package!”

YSB’s Service to Youth Award recognizes individuals who are champions to youth and provide outstanding service to youth and families throughout the east metro.
