Jeans & Jewels Gala will feature a special appeal to benefit

students and teachers

STILLWATER - The 8th Annual Jeans & Jewels, a gala to support enrichment programs
in Stillwater Area Public Schools, will feature a special appeal to boost funding for
classroom grants. The event will be held on Saturday, March 8, at The Prom Center in
Oakdale.

Jeans & Jewels is sponsored by The Partnership Plan, an educational foundation
dedicated to the academic excellence of Stillwater area schools. This year’s event offers
a night of glamour and fun, with dinner, games and both live and silent auctions. Music
will be provided by the award-winning Con Amici Orchestra of Stillwater Area High
School.

“The Con Amici Orchestra is just one example of the excellence that can be found in our
local schools,” says event coordinator Kristin Kroll, a District 834 parent. “But that
excellence doesn’t happen by chance, and it is our financial support that provides the
extras that help make our great schools extraordinary. It’s a big bonus that we can
provide that support and have fun at the same time at an event like Jeans & Jewels.”

Over the years, the Partnership Plan has invested more than $5 million in Stillwater
area schools. It has funded STEM (science, technology, engineering and math)
curriculum support, classroom grants, and districtwide initiatives that benefit all
students.

At this year’s event, which marks the 25th anniversary of The Partnership Plan, funds
raised at the Gala will be focused on classroom grants to teachers. This focus reflects
the original and continuing purpose of the organization: to provide exciting curriculum
innovations that are beyond the funding abilities of the District.

Jeans & Jewels will be hosted by District parent Lee Valsvik, from KOOL108 and KARE
11. During the evening, guests will be able to visit the Champagne bar, play the ever-
popular Heads & Tails game, take a chance on the wine raffle and enjoy coming
together in support of our schools.
