Confused about how to parent your kids? Have a particular parenting problem with your child? Want to learn more about approaches to parenting? The Lake Elmo Library can help you on Thursday, November 14th at 6:30 pm, when Dr. Thom Davis, a local child psychologist will speak about parenting and especially books on parenting. He will talk briefly about different types of parenting books, different approaches to parenting, and then lead a discussion about his and your favorite parenting books.
Bring your own parenting book recommendations and let us know why you like them and why you would recommend them. We value your input! We will attempt to include as many recommended books in the Library as our budget permits.
Dr. Davis recently retired after serving children, teens, and their families for the past 46 years, first as an elementary school teacher and principal for 12 years. After getting his psychology doctorate at the University of Minnesota, he worked as a clincal psychologist at Health Partners until 2000. For the past 13 years he had a clinical private practice in the Lake Elmo Library building. He was licensed as both a school and clinical psychologist. Dr. Davis and his wife have three children and four grandchildren. Free childcare will be provided during the program, please register at the library or call 651-773-4926.
