Does your child love animals and wonder what it would be like to be a veterinarian?
This Saturday, November 16, Rivertown Animal Hospital will be hosting a very special event for kids.
Rivertown Animal Hospital’s Mini Vet School is open to children between 7 and 12 years of age. The program provides children an opportunity to experience what happens behind the scenes in a veterinary clinic.

Participants come away with knowledge of everything from dog-bite prevention, how to perform a physical exam, and first aid procedures for pets, to dental health, surgery, taking and reading X-rays, and parasitic diseases. They will also see broken bones on X-rays, put on bandages, listen to real dog hearts, brush teeth, look through microscopes and try on surgical gowns.
At Mini Vet School, kids are encouraged to ask questions and participate in many hands-on activities. They leave with stethoscopes, lab coats and other learning materials.
