Next Mini Vet School Date Set

Does your child love animals and wonder what it would be like to be a veterinarian?

Rivertown Animal Hospital’s Mini Vet School is open to children between 7 and 12 years of age. The program provides children an opportunity to experience what happens in a real veterinary clinic.

Participants come away with knowledge of everything from dog-bite prevention, how to perform a physical exam, and first aid procedures for pets, to dental health, surgery, taking and reading X-rays, and parasitic diseases. They will also see broken bones on X-rays, put on bandages, listen to real dog hearts, brush teeth, look through microscopes and try on surgical gowns.

At Mini Vet School, kids are encouraged to ask questions and participate in many hands-on activities. They leave with stethoscopes, lab coats and other learning materials.

Our sessions receive accolades from the participants. At the end of each Mini Vet School we hope that we have encouraged an interest in pet health and maybe even given a nudge to a budding future veterinarian!

Mini Vet School is a great gift for any child who loves animals. Gift certificates are available.
