On a random road trip with my husband and toddler we ended up in Prairie Du Chein, WI. When asked what to do in the area during a pit stop, the lady we were speaking to suggested we check out Pike's Peak in McGregor, Iowa.
I know I had a confused look wash over my face after she said that. (I mean really, Pike's Peak is in COLORADO! Everyone knows that!) But, I'm glad we took her advice because the view was amazing in the morning. Usually you have a clear view over looking where the Wisconsin River and Mississippi river meet. But, in our case we just saw a bunch of fog...oh, and a fox but he isn't in the picture.
