The next time you’re strolling through downtown Stillwater looking for a place to eat that you’ve haven’t tried before stop in at Reve 324 on the first floor of the Grand Garage overlooking Main Street. You won’t be disappointed. It’s comfortable, contemporary, yet cozy, and serves some of the freshest food in town under the watchful eyes of owners and brothers, Matt and Nate Stabenow. Carol, their mother, works closely with her sons and pitches in where ever she’s needed in the day-to-day process of running a restaurant.
Loosely translated, Reve, pronounced Riv vay means sweet dreams in French. The Stabenow brother’s sweet dreams of owning their own place became realty after working and learning the ropes in a local restaurant. They opened Reve 324 two years ago and have been going strong ever since and have worked hard at making their customers feel welcomed.
As soon as you enter Reve 324 comfy couches, love seats and a fireplace greet you. “We want people to walk in with their family and feel like it’s their family room where they can relax with friends and family,” says Matt. “It’s upscale uptown meets rustic Stillwater. It’s contemporary with lots of colors and music but still has that old-school feel with the copper and chandeliers.”

The same can be said for the food at Reve 324; it’s both contemporary and old school. There’s everything from a classic Caesar salad to mini-burgers, pizzas and pasta dishes to innovative seafood, meat and vegetarian entrees. “The cool thing is that we have one freezer and one fridge. Everything is as fresh as it gets. Because we don’t have much storage we get deliveries every other day,” says Matt.
Reve 324 now offers full-service dining. Customers no longer have to order their food at the counter before sitting down. It’s been replaced with a wrap-around bar, a perfect spot for sipping wine or enjoying one of the many Belgium beers Reve 324 offers.
