The Elder Scrolls Online Gold fans have been waiting six months for the massively multiplayer game to hit next-gen consoles. But they'll have to wait a bit longer.

In a Thursday update, ESO makers ZeniMax and Bethesda revealed that the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the title—originally scheduled for a June launch—need another six months of work."It has become clear that our planned June release of the console versions isn't going to be possible," the announcement said. "Though we have made great progress, we have concluded that we'll need about six months to ensure we deliver the experience our fans expect and deserve."

But all hope is not lost: In an effort to appease fans, Bethesda and ZeniMax are offering a special deal. Anyone who purchases and plays the PC or Mac version of The Elder Scrolls Online by the end of next month can transfer their characters to either console when released.
