Washington Co. vs Federal Government

I'm sitting here in front of the computer reading all the posts about the federal government. It started me thinking about Washington Co., Minnesota where I live. Our country is not only a great place to live but our County Government does an excellent job of providing services to our residents at a reasonable cost.

For over 60 years I've lived in this county and have had many dealings with just about every dept. The county has. I can count on one hand, minus a couple of fingers, the negative experiences I have had.

So, why is that? Is it because it concentrates on core and essential services? Or because is a small uncomplicated form of government? Or because it is non-partisan?

Hold on a minute, that is it. Our five commissioners don't caucus...don't run for office on a party platform...and do work together for the benefit of the residents not the party.
