Benilde-St. Margaret's Earns Red Quill Legacy Award

Benilde-St. Margaret’s School has been honored with a Red Quill Legacy Award for 2012-2013 by ACT Midwest Region, the organization that offers a range of assessment, research and program management services, including the ACT test. This award follows the Red Quill Award that BSM was given last spring. The Red Quill Legacy Award is presented to learning organizations which have already been recognized in previous years for their best practices. In announcing the award to the school, Red Quill Committee Chairman Phillip J. Daniel stated, “The Red Quill Legacy Award recognizes a long-term commitment leading to increased student achievement and systemic improvements.”
For the past honor, the Red Quill Award, BSM was selected for analyzing and using data effectively to support curricular and instructional changes and enhancements based on the needs of students. Fewer than 25 percent of the schools vying for the award were honored.
Benilde-St. Margaret’s School is a Catholic, college-preparatory, co-ed school, grades 7-12, located in St. Louis Park. Ninety-one percent of the Class of 2012 took the ACT. The BSM composite average is 26. The national composite average is 21.1. For more information, visit the BSM website, www.BSMschool.org
