Local Relay for Life kickoff set for March 9

The 2013 Relay for Life of Hopkins-Minnetonka will kick off its season at a celebratory and informational event from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 9 at The Depot Coffee House, 9451 Excelsior Blvd., Hopkins.

The event is open to community members in Hopkins, Minnetonka, St. Louis Park and surrounding areas.

The kickoff meeting is designed for those who are interested in forming or joining a team to raise money for the American Cancer Society. Come and learn about why we Relay, how to fundraise, how to form and motivate teams, and how you can join in the fight against cancer. Light refreshments will be provided.

Relay for Life is the American Cancer Society’s signature activity. The local Relay for Life of Hopkins-Minnetonka will begin on Friday, June 21 at Hopkins West Junior High School.

Teams can be formed by families, friends, co-workers, church groups, civic organizations or businesses. The family-friendly event will honor survivors and remember lost loved ones.
