Park Nichollet Allergist Honored For Lifetime Achievement

Dr. Richard Sveum, an allergy specialist with Park Nicollet Clinic is the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Lung Association in Minnesota.  Sveum is a member of the health charity’s Leadership Board, and also is a member of the medical board for the
Lung Association’s Camp Superkids program. Dr. Sveum serves on the board of the American Lung Association of the Upper Midwest, and he also serves as a clinical professor in pediatrics and medicine for the University of Minnesota Medical School.

Dr. Sveum has been a volunteer leader for over 25 years with a strong passion for the asthma camp program and the many children and families the program has served. He is also a member of the National Consortium on
Children’s Asthma Camps.

At a May 7 ceremony in Golden Valley, the American Lung Association in Minnesota lauded Sveum’s dedication to the asthma camp program and to all children with asthma and their families.  Accepting the honor, Sveum recalled his friend and mentor, the late Dr. Richard Cushing, the
founder of the camp who asked for his help “for a few days.”
