Smart Choices, Less Traffic: National Report Names SWLRT One of the Nation’s Best Transportation Projects

The SW LRT is featured in a new national report: Smart Choices, Less Traffic: 50 Best and Worst Transportation Projects in the United States.
“The transportation infrastructure we build today will be with us for decades,” said Matthews Hollinshead, Conservation Chair of the Sierra Club North Star Chapter. “The Southwest LRT is exactly the kind of infrastructure we need as part of a 21st Century Transportation system. This project will make commuting to work and school easier for thousands of Minnesotans.”
More jobs, less traffic and expanded transportation options are great benefits the Southwest LRT will deliver to area residents and the entire metro region. As the Smart Choices, Less Traffic report illustrates, the time is now for investing in transit. More transitways and safer bike and pedestrian connections will help us move beyond oil, saving families time and money.
