Spirit of Christ Community Lutheran Church celebrated the installation of its new pastor, the Rev. Amy Orstad, Feb. 10. She succeeds Senior Pastor Wesly Syverson who retired in December.
Orstad joins Spirit of Christ from First Lutheran Church of Columbia Heights where she served as associate pastor. She is a graduate of Luther Seminary in St. Paul, and has a bachelor's degree in psychology from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minn. She and her husband, Steve, have two young daughters and reside in Shoreview.
"Central to all of my work in ministry is the element of connecting God and faith to daily life," says Orstad. "Worship is where we learn, grow, and share, but it's Monday through Saturday—where we live, work, and play—where it really matters who and how we are in God's world."

Spirit of Christ Community Lutheran Church is located at 5801 Minnetonka Blvd. in St. Louis Park. Sunday School is held at 9 a.m. Sundays, with worship at 10 and Fellowship at 11. All are welcome.
