Community Corner

Letter to Editor: Join Me in Supporting Hallfin, Spano and Tatalovich, Rykken

St. Louis Park City Council elections are Nov. 8.

I am supporting Steve Hallfin and Jake Spano for City Council at large and as I believe they have the relevant experience and proven dedication to our community to get the job done.

It's going to be important that our city and school district work closely together as we continue to experience challenges vis-a-vis budgets and revenue.

Both have children attending schools in our district so they understand how close the link is between property values and successful schools. Steve is also a Children First Asset Champion and this philosophy supports many, many policy decisions at the city level.

I am also supporting Joe Tatalovich and Pam Rykken for School Board as I believe they both have demonstrated exceptional leadership in many areas of our public schools. They understand how important it is to carefully manage the funds that come into our district to best serve the needs of all our children. They understand that successful action does not mean attending a bunch of meetings to say you have attended. They have both served in our schools as volunteers. They have both served as successful leaders on a number of initiatives to benefit all of our students. And, they are both Children First Asset Champions.

Please join me on November 8 to elect Hallfin, Spano, Rykken and Tatalovich to St. Louis Park City Council and School Board.
