Ex-St. Louis Park Figure Skating Coach Convicted Of Sex Crimes

The former figure skating coach from St. Louis Park was sentenced Friday after sexually abusing a girl starting when she was 14.

TWIN CITIES, MN — A former Twin Cities figure skating coach is headed to prison for more than two decades after sexually assaulting his star skating pupil when she was between 14 and 16 years old.

Thomas Incantalupo, 48, of St. Louis Park was sentenced to 24 years in prison for one count of first-degree criminal sexual conduct and one count of third-degree criminal sexual conduct, Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman announced Friday. The prosecutors were seeking 27 years.

According to the criminal complaint, the sexual abuse began in August 2015 when the girl was 14, and continued through 2017. In January 2018, the victim told a friend of the sexual abuse, according to a news release.

The victim’s parents soon found out and went to the police. On Jan. 9, 2018, the victim was wired for sound when she met Incanatalupo at a skating rink, saying she wanted no sexual contact between the two of them.

Incantalupo acknowledged the hotel visits and the sexual contact in the taped conversation, the complaints states.
