New Poll Shows Close Race in Minnesota's 3rd District
Democrats are targeting Rep. Erik Paulson in their effort to win back the House.
A new poll released by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee today showed State Senator Terri Bonoff leading incumbent Erik Paulsen by two points in the race for Congress in Minnesota’s 3rd District.
Bonoff's lead on Paulsen, however, is well within the poll's 5.2 percentage point margin of error.
The poll surveyed 353 likely general election voters in Minnesota’s 3rd Congressional District.

Terri Bonoff Goes After Donald Trump in First Campaign Ad
“This news is a testament to the hard work and positive message of Terri’s campaign,” Sean Oyaas, Bonoff's communications director, said in a statement.
“We have known all along that once voters find out that Erik Paulsen is anti-choice, anti-LGBTQ, and votes to block gun violence prevention measures, they begin to understand that he is not the moderate he paints himself to be, and we are seeing that shift occur.

“Additionally, this poll is a reflection of Paulsen’s lack of courage and inability to stand up to Donald Trump, which mirrors his track record of not ever being able to stand up to his party.”
DCCC says Bonoff moved into the lead after one week of ads that linked Paulsen to Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.
DCCC's poll was released after an August poll paid for by the American Action Network, a group run by former GOP Sen. Norm Coleman, showed Paulsen leading Bonoff 57 percent to 31 percent.
